Publicis Sapient delivers a fundamental transformation program for European DataWarehouse to become one of the first Securitisation Repositories under ESMA

Publicis Sapient is proud to announce the successful completion of an important transformation program for European DataWarehouse (EDW). On the 23rd of June EDW was registered as one of the first Securitisation Repositories (SRs) by the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA). From the 30th of June,  financial institutions and other market participants will be obliged to report securitisation transactions to a SR in order to comply with the Securitisation Regulation (EU)2017/2402. Through this achievement, Publicis Sapient has helped EDW to further strengthen its position as the leader in providing regulatory reporting solutions to the European securitisation market.

As part of its digital transformation initiative, EDW engaged Publicis Sapient to implement the technology allowing for the compliant reporting of public and private securitisations in Europe. Publicis Sapient has strategically synchronised its expertise of agile practices, business domain knowledge and expert technical prowess in cloud and analytics space to create the entire regulatory platform. At the core of the repository architecture Publicis Sapient and EDW are leveraging Microsoft’s Azure cloud big data platform with continuous delivery powered by DevOps. This repository platform supports collection, real time processing/validation and storage of the securitisation-related billions of loan level data records along with assessment of the data completeness and quality. Additionally, the new platform provides a seamless integration with EDW’s repository to enable issuers, investors, and regulators to fulfil the due diligence requirements and provide transparency to the EU securitisation market.

European DataWarehouse (EDW) is a registered Securitisation Repository designated by the European Securities and Markets Authority. The company was established in 2012 as the Eurosystem’s first repository to facilitate the collection, validation, and download of standardised loan-level data (LLD) for Asset-Backed Securities (ABS) and private whole loan portfolios.
