How Nationwide Is Creating Better Customer Experiences Through Cloud

Zero disruption cloud migration reduces costs and accelerates product development.

Nationwide designed the Cloud Center of Excellence to be a resilient, secure, responsive and cost-effective enterprise cloud platform. They came to Publicis Sapient to help them migrate their digital journeys to the new platform so they can launch new products at speed and improve experiences for their customers.

The Imperative for Change

Although Nationwide’s Engage and Originate (E&O) journeys were already hosted on a tactical cloud solution, the team wanted to migrate these journeys to the Cloud Center of Excellence — Nationwide’s resilient, secure and quick-to-market enterprise cloud platform.

The goal? To bring new products and services to market quickly, improve the overall customer experience and reduce the time and cost required to build and deploy new journeys.

The Transformative Solution

To achieve their vision, Nationwide partnered with Publicis Sapient to migrate their digital journeys to the Cloud Center of Excellence. We built a containerized platform on Amazon Web Services (AWS) to leverage the power of the cloud and integrate the platform with a range of strategic tools and technologies — including shared services and security controls.

We followed a phased approach to adopting new tools, building the platform and migrating the journeys. Through this we were able to work closely with the E&O team to build a platform that met their requirements, ensure a successful migration and create minimal disruption to the business and their customers.

The Impact

We migrated the journeys to the new platform with zero downtime, allowing Nationwide to continue to serve their customers without disruption. And by reducing the migration timeline by 50%, we allowed the E&O team to bring new products and services to the cloud more quickly, improving the overall customer experience.

The platform enables new journeys to leverage reusable components, keeping costs down, and by providing the right documentation, knowledge transfer, templates for onboarding and governance models, we were able to help Nationwide’s colleagues hit the ground running with a smooth transition.
