Although the large UK bank had migrated its ERM workloads to AWS, the setup was fragmented, heavily manual, and lacked compliance with critical non-functional requirements such as disaster recovery, security, and scalability. The existing platform was at end of life and was 13 versions behind leading to a huge compliance risk for the bank. The planned upgrade is an enabler for the bank to meet repeatable deployments and enable faster upgrades. Publicis Sapient was brought in to transform the deployment into a fully automated, modular, and enterprise-compliant solution—leveraging Terraform, PowerShell, GitLab CI/CD, and AWS-native services to create a scalable and secure environment aligned with modern DevOps and infrastructure best practices.

Publicis Sapient re-architected the UK bank’s ERM deployment using a modular, Infrastructure as Code approach. We replaced manual scripts with automated Terraform modules and PowerShell executed through AWS SSM. CI/CD pipelines in GitLab were standardized, secrets were secured using AWS Secrets Manager, and non-functional requirements like DR, monitoring, and backups were embedded into the platform. The solution was agile, repeatable, and aligned with enterprise cloud best practices.
